Product description

A house name plate can be impersonal and purely informative, or welcoming and familiar. Neither option is necessarily better than the other. Everything rather depends on what awaits inside the front door. Obviously there is a huge difference between a house name sign for a family and a house name plate for a bank or funeral directors.

The important thing is for the sign to reflect the right feeling. What do you want to convey with your house name plate?

Many individuals and businesses choose to have a house name plate. Size and design vary greatly, but they all fill a similar function – to welcome visitors.

House name plates– text variants

Welcome – This is one of the more common options. A welcoming message on a welcoming sign. Remember that it is the design of the plate that largely determines how welcoming it will be perceived as, not the text itself.

Family name– “Welcome to the ….. family” A nice personal way of giving visitors a first impression. Usually only the family surname is included, but some people also include the first names of family members to make the plate more personal.

The name of the house/estate – People living in an older house or on a larger estate can also include the name of the building/estate. This highlights its history and makes the house more personal.

Name and number - Where the house number is not clearly indicated in any other way, a house name plate can be used to do this. Some people also include the street name.
