Please note that our wood signs are only intended for indoor use.

Manufacturing and materials

Our wooden signs consist of MDF with wood veneer in wood-type birch and oak. The material has a thickness of 4 mm. As the material is untreated, it is only intended for indoor use. Our wooden plaques are printed in a UV printer, which means that you can upload pictures and text in multicolour.

You choose the desired type of wood, colour, shape, attachment method and size on the design page. On our Design Page you can order wooden plaques up to 1100 x 1100 mm. Wooden plates can be attached with screws or tape, hanging on the wall or using standoffs.

Wooden signs with personalised text

Wooden signs are often used to communicate a warm and old fashioned feeling. On our website you can create your own personalised wooden sign that will make your home even more homely. You can also create a customised wooden name plate for your office.

By choosing a specific font you can create wooden signs that will look great in different environments. Do you prefer classic wood signs, a more countryside or a modern look?

Common uses are:

A wooden name plate is often used in office environments. When choosing a customised wooden name plate e.g. your office put your name and profession on it, all text and images will be UV printed on to the wood.

Wooden house sign

Indoor wooden house signs can be inspiring with quotes and images or informal and classic. You could also use your wooden house signs as an interior detail, e.g. at a restaurant, reception or entrance where you want to create a cosy, pleasant and natural feeling for guests and visitors. Recommended size for wooden house signs is 200 x 90 mm or bigger. It is not uncommon to have the family name on the wooden house signs, to indicate who is living there.

Self adhesive tape works on any surfaces, perfect for any wood plaques and signs showing where the restroom is for example. Standoff or screw with cap is not uncommon for wood house signs or for cottages - welcoming your guests with a lovely and cosy wood house sign.

Oak and Birch

At Signomatic and in our sign maker you can choose from 2 different types of timber for your plaque - Oak and Birch. They are both a light-coloured wood. Oak is a little more darker in the colour compared to birch. Both of the wood types are a beautiful timber and gives a warm and cosy feeling for your wood plaques. The timber types are extremely durable and long lifespan when kept indoors.
